School Education – Celebration of 8th International Day of yoga on 21.06.2022 in schools Organization of Yoga quiz Olympiad during the period May-June, 2022 – Certain Instructions - Issued

(copies enclosed), wherein the Additional Secretary, DSE&L, Govt. of India,

New Delhi has informed that 8th International Day of Yoga will be

celebrated on 21st June, 2022. It has been tried and tested that practicing

yoga helps in the development of stronger physical and mental wellbeing.

The simple Yoga Kriyas help in regaining the sense of control and enables

mind and body to provide tools for better management of anxiety.

Further he has requested that 8th International Day of Yoga may be

celebrated in schools by organising the age appropriate yoga activities

while maintaining the COVID Protocols. The students may also participate

in Yoga Quiz and Yoga Olympiad to be organised by the NCERT on this

occasion and also to organise the following suggestive activities under Fit

India Movement during the period May-June, 2022.

 Learn common yoga protocols, diferent poses of yoga through Fit

India Yoga Mobile App.

 Pranayam/Meditation/Mindfulness activities every day.

 Rhythmic Yoga on patriotic songs and share your stories on Fit India

Mobile App.

 Daily Yoga, Stretching, Hand exercises may be included in assembly

to make ftness part of students'/teachers' daily lifestyle.

 Focus on Mind games like chess, Sudoku, Puzzle etc.

Therefore, all the Regional Joint Directors of School Education and

District Educational Ofcers in the State are requested to issue necessary

instructions to all the Field Ofcers / Headmasters of all management

schools to take up the above suggestive activities as per the given

schedule under Fit India Movement during the period May – June, 2022 in

their respective schools and encourage the students to participate in the

celebrations of 8th International Day of Yoga on 21st June, 2022 and also

participate in the Yoga Quiz and Yoga Olympiad, which will be organised

by the NCERT on this occasion.

The Secretary, SGF, O/o CSE, A.P., & State Nodal Ofcer is requested

to take further necessary action to conduct the above said yoga

suggestive activities/ Yoga Quiz / Yoga Olympiad etc., and celebrations of

th International Day of Yoga on 21st June, 2022 in the schools in

consultation with all the District Educational Ofcers in the State and

submit compliance report to the undersigned without fail.
