Providing admissions to the dropout children in the KGBV/APMS/NRSTC Hostels Instructions to the DEOs/APCs in the state
The attention of the District Educational Officers & Ex-Officio Project
Coordinators and Additional Project Coordinators of Samagra Shiksha in the
state except Prakasam & Kurnool are invited to the ref 1st cited and informed
that Women and Child welfare Department has identified a list of (397)
children in 11 districts with child marriages during the lock down period.
However, compared to the previous year it is very less, the same period during
last year reported 855 cases of the child marriage. The analysis of the data
shows that the child marriages are more in the BC community, especially
among the girls in the 15-17 years age group, the reason being mentioned as
economic for reasons of dowry, good alliance etc. The maximum reporting to
childline has been done by the neighbour, followed by the sachivayalam staff
and the child’s friends. The highlight of the report is that the ICDS functionaries
(CDPOs and supervisors), the police and the VRO and Tahsildars have been part
of the interventions at large.
It is further informed that in the ref 2nd cited previously Women and
child Welfare department has communicated a list of 109 children and
instructions were issued to the DEOs/APCs in the state to provide
admissions to those children in KGBVs/APMS Urban Residential Schools
