School Education - Celebration of Teachers’ Day (GURU PUJOTSAVAM) on 5t h September 2025 – Selection of Best Teachers for State Awards – Guidelines, Eligibility, Schedule - Certain Instructions –
The attention of all the Regional Joint Directors, District Educational Officers and Additional Project Coordinators in the State is invited to the references cited and are informed that, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has been celebrating Teacher’s Day (GURU PUJOTSAVAM) every year to honour the Best Teachers/ Meritorious Teachers for State Award on the eve of the Birth Day on 5th/September/2025 of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former President of India. This scheme is applicable to regular teachers working in government schools across managements such as – Zilla Parishad, Mandal Parishad, Municipal, Aided Schools, APMS, APSWREIS, APTWREIS, APREIS, KGBV, and DIETs under the Department of School Education. In this regard, the District Educational Officers in the State are hereby requested to ensure a transparent, merit-based, and evidence-driven process. And the selection will be conducted purely on applications invited at District level (physical) and online at the state level, using objective data and digital portfolios and the eliminations are subjectivity and ensures all teachers, regardless of geography, have equitable access to Recognition.
Further, they are requested to scrutinize the proposals by the District Selection Committee duly following the procedural guidelines, Timelines and submit the same with specific recommendations to the Director of School Education, Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati.
