School Education – SCERT, AP – Student Safety – Constitution of District School Safety Advisory Committee
$$$ The kind attention of all the District Educational Ofcers in the state is invited to the reference 1st cited that the state Government of AP is highly concerned about the safety of children during disasters and hazard situations. The Department of Education in association with APSDMA and UNICEF has started Andhra Pradesh Comprehensive School Safety Programmes during 2018. School Disaster Management Curriculum also integrated during the year 2019. The state has initiated capacity building programmes on CCA (Comprehensive School Safety) at diferent level from schools to state level. Yearly Mock Exercises also conducted with APSDRF, NDRF, Fire, Police , Health, Revenue (DM), SDMA, UNICEF and other line departments and Community Based Organizations every year. The main Pillars of AP- Comprehensive School Safety Programmes are; (1) Creating safe learning facilities for children, (2) Establish (Structural and NonStructural) Disaster Risk Reduction Measures in all schools. (3) Protection from violence and other forms of abuse in schools, (4) Ensure safety of children from home to school and back. In accordance with National School Safety Policy-2016, the state of Andhra Pradesh will constitute 26 District level School Safety Advisory Committees to ensure safe environment for children and to coordinate school safety
programmes in all 26 Districts in Andhra Pradesh. As per the order of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India the District Education Ofcer will be nominated as the Nodal ofcer and also to send quarterly progress reports in respect of actions taken on implementation of School Safety Guidelines to APSDMA and NDMA. The district school safety advisory committee will include the following representatives in order to ensure comprehensive safety measures and convergence in establishing safe environment for education
