But
All the District Educational Ofcers and Regional Joint Director of
School Education in the state are instructed to celebrate National Sports
Day in schools on August 29th on the occasion of Wizard of the Hockey –
Dhyanchand’s Birthday. On this day the Principle Secretary has directed to
certify as a “School of Sports Excellence” to the 5 best schools in each
district and also award with cash award (Rs.10,000 for Ist Place, Rs.8,000
for IInd Place, Rs.6,000 for III Place, Rs.4,000 for IVth place, Rs.2,000 for
Vth place), mementos (Rs.10,000 per district) and certifcate as per the
highest points secured.
Accordingly, best 5 schools are identifed and annexure district wise
list of High Schools as per the parameters given by the SGFAP, District
level Committee after scrutinizing the list of High School to award as a
“School of Sports Excellence”. The cash award is purely expended for
implementation of games & sports in schools.
Therefore, all the District Educational Ofcers are instructed to
conduct/celebrate the National Sports Day and give wide publicity in every
school point and to honour the students those who are participated in
National Level and message to the children about the importance of the
Sports on the occasion of Dhyanchand’s Birthday in each every school
point without fail.
