The attention of all the District Educational Officers and Additional Project
Coordinators in the State is invited to the subject cited and are hereby informed that
the “National Unity day” popularly known as “Rashtriya Ekta Divas” is celebrated
every year on 31st October to commemorate the birth anniversary of “Sardar
Vallabhbhai Patel” - the Iron Man of India, who played a pivotal role in India’s
freedom movement and also during the integration of the country.
Further informed that the Department of School Education and Literacy,
Ministry of Education, Government of India is conducting a quiz competition for
school children on MyGov.in portal (Details of competitions is given at Annexure
enclosed) during the period of 26th October to 10th November, 2020 to celebrate the
soul of “National Unity day” while adhering to COVID-19 protocols on the theme
“Knowledge, Traditions, Practices and Heritage of India”. Therefore, they have
requested to disseminate this information to all schools and encourage maximum
participation. Also communicated the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge to take on
31st October, 2020 and the same is herewith enclosed.
In view of the above, while enclosing the copies of the letters references
cited, all the District Educational Officers and Additional Project Coordinators in the
State are hereby requested to give necessary instructions to the Head
Masters/Principals under their control for wide participation of all Teachers and
Students to take part in the celebration of the day and are requested to ensure that
