As per the PAB approved 2020, the School Complexes are the most

critical units for training and providing onsite support to schools and

teachers at grass root level. The Education Commission (1964-66)

suggested to setup school complexes within the radius of about five to ten

miles and the schools have to be linked together to form a School

Complex for effective academic support. The schools in a group of school

complex can help each other in improving the quality of education; share

the aids, library books, laboratory material etc.

The AP Samagra Shiksha has conducted series of discussions, pilot

reorganisation at one mandal of each districts and also webinar on

04/09/2020 with the identified District Educational Officers, Principals of

DIETs, Addl. Project Coordinators of Samagra Shiksha, Mandal Educational

Officers, School Complex HMs, Academic Monitoring Officers of Samagra

Shiksha and CRPs, in the State on strengthening of the School

Complexes. In this Webinar all the stakeholders are opined that school

Complexes should be re-organized in the State for effective conduct of

school complexes.

The National Educational Policy 2020

The National Educational Policy (NEP) 2020 extended the

definition of a School Complex in the present context, to go beyond

the original goal of ending the isolation of small schools and

improving educational outcomes. The NEP 2020 also indicates that,

if the aim of the School Complex will be extended to create a

coherent set of educational facilities including pre-schools/

Anganwadis, institutions offering vocational education and adult

education, teacher support institutions and support for CWSN that

are located within a well-connected geographical area and can

support each other in their work. Such a school complex would then

become the primary administrative unit of the public-school system.
