Institute of Education (RIE) of

the National Council

Educational Research and

Training (NCERT) in Nellore,

Andhra Pradesh, will cater to

the needs of the states of

Telangana, Andhra Pradesh,

Tamil Nadu and the Union

Territory of Puducherry

Regional

Minister for human resource

development Ramesh Pohriyal

Nishank made a statement to

this effect while replying to a

question on the operating area

of NCERT Centre in Nellore

and the hurdles being faced by

the government in starting the

centre, posed by Nellore MP

Adala Prabhakar Reddy in the

Lok Sabha on Monday

Setting up a new Regional

Institute of Education (RIE)

requires

approval by the prescribed

authorities. In_ this connec-

tion, the NCERT has recently

awarded the work of prepara-

tion of a Detailed Project

Report (DPR) for the proposed

RIE to a professional agency,

the minister said.
