Regarding.

Mana Badi: Nadu-Nedu is a prestigious programme initiated by the

Government for transformation of Government schools in the State. In the

first phase a total of (L5,7L5) schools are identified for transformation

through strengthening of infrastructure. This infrastructure program' will

be taken up by parents' committees without contractors through a

methodology called community contracting.

2. The Govt desires to ensure the following (9) components in. all

the schools as part of the program Mana badi Naadu-Nedu.

i. Toilets with running water.

ii. Electrification with fans and tube lights.

iii. Drinking water supply.

iv. Furniture for students and staff.

v. Painting to school.

vi. Major and minor repairs.

vii. Green chalk boards.

viii. Additional class rooms and English labs

ix. Compound walls. 3. All the implementation agencies shall note that the department

has set certain standards and specifications in respect of the above (9)

types of works to be taken up under this program. These standards and

specifications are attached in annexure. Alt the engineers shall follow

these specifications and standards while preparation of the estimates and

while execution of the program. All the trainer engineers shall train the

parent committees on these standards and specifications white training.

4. The quality control and quality assurance wings of the respective

implementation engineering departments also shall check these standards

and specifications while inspecting the works.
