| am to Inform you that Government of Andhra Pradesh decided to launch DR YSR KANTI VELUGU programme with an objective to provide comprehensive and sustainable Universal Eye Care to all the people in the state by conducting eye screening and provision of appropriate interventions like distribution of
Spectacles, Surgeries in case of Cataract, Glaucoma, Retinopathy, Corneal disorders etc in a Phased manner. Programme will be launched on 10.10.2019 on the occasion of world sight day. The details of various phases in the programme and detailed
guidelines for conducting phase | programme is enclosed for ready reference.
All the District Medical & Health Officers, District Coordinator of Hospital Services, District Programme Managers (NPCB) shall prepare the district action plans, micro action plans for PHCs , training action , logistic plan and implement the
programmes as per the guidelines and action plans.
As the first and second phase of the programme is targeted for school children (both Government and Private) , involvement of Education department at all the levels is critical for implementation of programme. Hence District Medical & Health Officers shall prepare action plans and implement the programme in
coordination with District Education Officers.
Instructions with respect to release and utilisation of funds will be issued in
due course
