Health - Implementing and Observing the Swachhta Pakhwada from 1st to 15th September, 201,9

The attention all the Project Directors of SSA in the State are drawn to the reference read

above, wherein, the Government olAndhra Pradesh, School Education Department has informed

that Swachhta Pakwada is going to be organized from September 1tt to 1sth 2019 in every

district in the State to create publicity and awareness on Swachhta Pakwada 2019,ensuring

maximum participation of schools and Educational institutions and undertake activities such as

special drive for Cleanliness, Sanitation, Clean/Safe Water and hygiene and other related

activities in school premises and nearby areas with active involvement ol students, teachers,

parents, SMCs, Education Officials,local representatives etc during the Swachhta Pakwada,2019

from 1tt to l5tL Septentber, 2019 and instructed to intimate action plan and uploading activities

undertaken dunng Swachhata Pakhwada 2019 along with detailed report on Shagun Portal.

In this context, the following activities are to be taken by the schools/institutions during

the period said above.

I. Swachhta Shapath may be organized by allschools and educational institutions on the

very first working day of the Pakwada, where in all students and teachers/staff may

pa rticipate.

II. Holding meeting of SMCs/PTAs or between parents and teachers in the first week olthe

Pakwada to highlight the importance of cleanliness and sanitation among children and

teachers; and to encourage and inspire them to continue with the good practices for

hygiene and sanitation in schools as well as home.

III.Teachers to inspect sanitary lacilities in every school/institution and make

proposal/plan f,or repair and upkeep of the facilities, if required.

IV.Competitions can be helcl in districts/blocks/clusters lor clean and well ntaintained

premises and toilets in schools.

V. Essay/Quiz competition for students on Cleanliness and Hygiene practices in school'

VI. Painting Competition for students, teachers and parents.

VII. Debate on Swachhata.

VIII.Swachhata awareness messages to be posted on the website olthe

Organization/Schools. Alternatively, Photographs on Swachhata may be displayed in

schools.

Besides the above participatory activities, the following activities may also be

undertaken by the teachers and administration of the schools'
