Subject: Opening of online nominations for 2019-20 under INSPIRE Award MANAK Scheme. Sir/Madam,
As you are aware that INSPIRE Award Scheme implemented by this Department has been revamped under the name INSPIRE Award MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspiration and Knowledge) with a basic objective to instil creative/innovative thinking among school students in the age group of 10-15 years and studying in class 6-10. This was done to align this scheme with the objectives of “Start-up India” initiative launched by Hon*ble Prime Minister of India.
The MANAK Scheme envisages to target one million original/innovative ideas from students studying in more than five lakh middle and high schools across the country and selecting the best ideas having potential to cater to societal needs and applications, for an INSPIRE Award, thereby motivating these students to take these ideas forward for prototype and product development.
3, — It may kindly be noted that the registered schools under the INSPIRE Award MANAK Scheme, in each financial year, can nominate 2-3 best ideas from their schools, through online mode, in E Management of INSPIRE Award Scheme (E-MIAS) web portal of the Department using the link: www. inspireawards-dst.gov.in,
4, The online nominations for 2019-20, have been resumed from 15" February, 2019. The schools will be able to submit their online nominations till 31" July, 2019,
Ltequest you to please direct all the concerned State and District functionaries, to apprise all the schools under their purview, about opening of online nominations under the MANAK scheme for 2019-20 and the given deadline. The schools may be suitably informed to submit their nominations well before the given deadline in order to avoid last minute inconveniences encountered due to heavy load in the E-MIAS web portal
