ఆత్మగౌరవం అతని మారుపేరు.మొండితనం అతని ఇంటిపేరు.క్రమశిక్షణకు సరైన నిర్వచనం అతను.తెలుగుభాష అంటే ప్రాణం, ఒక తెలుగు ముఖ్యమంత్రికి జరిగిన అవమానానికి ప్రతీకారంగా పార్టీ పెట్టి 9 నెలలలోనే ఘనచరిత్ర కలిగిన కాంగ్రీస్ ను మట్టికరిపించినయోధుడు. దేశంలో ప్రతిపక్షాలన్నింటినీ ఒకే తాటి మీదకు తీసుకొచ్చిన ఘనుడు. సినిమా హీరో గానూ,దర్శకుడుగానూ,నిర్మాతగానూ,విభన్న రంగాలలో రాణించిన మేధావి, తెలుగుజాతి అన్నగా గౌరవించే శ్రీ నందమూరి తారకరామూరావుగారు.
రామారావ్ గారు 1923 మే 28 న పామర్రు మండలం నిమ్మకూరు గ్రామంలో జన్మించారు.పాఠశాల విద్యను విజయవాడ మున్సిపల్ హైస్కూల్ లోనూ,కళాశాల విద్యను ఆంథ్ర క్రిష్టియన్ కాలేజ్ లోనూ చదివారు. కళాశాలలో చదివేటప్పుడు నాటకాల మీద వున్న మక్కువతో నేషనల్ ఆర్ట్ థియేటర్ అనే సంస్థను స్థాపించి నాటకాలేసేవారు.నాగభూషణం,ముక్కామల,కొంగర జగ్గయ్యలాంటి వారు దానిలో సభ్యులు.19 యేట మేనమామ కూతురు బసవతారకంతో పెళ్ళైంది. ఎందుకనో ఆస్థి మొత్తం కరిగిపోవడంతో జీవనోపాథికోసం పాల అమ్మాడు,కిరణా కొట్టు వ్యాపారం కూడా చేశాడు. 1947 లో డిగ్రీ పాసవటంతో మద్రాస్ పబ్లిక్ కమీషన్ పరీక్షరాసిన 1300మందిలో 7 గురు సెలక్ట్ కాగా అందులో తనుా ఒకడై మంగళగిరి సబ్ రిజస్ట్రార్ ఆఫీస్ లో చేరాడు.అయితే సినిమాల మీద మక్కువతో మద్రాస్ వెళ్ళి పల్లెటూరి పిల్ల అనే సినిమాలో ఛాన్సు సంపాదించారు.అయితే మొదట రీలీజైందిమాత్రం మనదేశం. తర్వాత షావుకారు,పాతాళభైరవి మళ్ళీశ్వరిచంద్రహారం లాంటి సినిమాలతో టాప్ హీరోగా స్థిరపడిపోయాడు.15 చారిత్రాత్మకం,55 జానపధం,186 సాంఘిక,33 పౌరాణికఅసినిమాలలో నటించారు.
1982 మార్చి 29 న తెలుగువారి ఆత్మగౌరవం పేరిట " తెలుగుదేశంఅనే పార్టీని స్తాపించి చదువుకున్న యువకులనెందరినో రాజకీయాలలోనికి తీసుకొచ్చారు.ముఖ్యమంత్రిగా కొన్ని సాహసోపేత నిర్ణయాలు తీసుకొన్నాడు.
1. పేదలకు ఇళ్ళు
2, పేదలకు కిలో రెండు రూపాయల బియ్యం,
3.మధ్యపాననిషేధం.
4.తెలుగు గంగ కాలువ.
5, మండల వ్యవస్థ ఏర్పాటుద్వారా పరిపాలన వికేంద్రీకరణ.
6.తెలుగు మీడియం విద్యార్థులకు 5 మార్కుల వెయిటేజ్
7. రిజర్వేషన్ పక్కా అమలు చేయడానికి బ్యాక్ లాగ్ పోష్టుల సిస్టమ్ ను పెట్టి వాళ్ళకు చెందాల్సిన పోష్టులు వారికే ఇచ్చే ఏర్పాటుచేశాడు.అంతకముందు రిజర్వేషన్ కాండిడేట్ లేక పోతే OC లకుాఆ పోష్టు ఇచ్చేవారు.
ఏదిఏమైనా దేశంలో తెలుగువారికి గుర్తింపు తీసుకొచ్చినది మాత్రం యన్ .టి ఆరే. ,ఆంథ్రప్రదేశ్ లో రాజకీయచైతన్యం తీసుకొచ్చింది వీరే. అయితే రాజకీయలలో మాత్రం బాగా ఒడిదుడుకులు ఎదుర్కొన్నాడు. ప్రతిపక్షంలో వున్నప్పుడు అవమానాలు కూడాపడ్డారు. చివరికి 1996 జనవరి 18 గుండెపోటుతో మరణించారు. తెలుగుజాతి చరిత్రలో ఒక ముఖ్యమైన అధ్యాయం రామారావ్ గారు. గంభీరమైన ఖంఠం, తేజోవంతమైన ముఖవర్చసు, పట్టుదల,క్రమశిక్షణ,మొండి ధైర్యం ఆయన సొంతం.అలాంటి తెలుగువారిని గౌరవిస్తూ అతని సేవలను గుర్తుతెచ్చుకొందాం.
Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (28 May 1923 – 18 January 1996), popularly known as NTR, was an Indian actor, producer, director, editor and politician who served as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradeshfor seven years over three terms. He is widely regarded as one of the best actors of Indian cinema . NTR received three National Film Awards for co-producing Thodu Dongalu (1954) and Seetharama Kalyanam (1960) under National Art Theater, Madras, and for directing Varakatnam (1970). NTR has received the erstwhile Rashtrapati Awards for his performance(s) in the films Raju Peda (1954) and Lava Kusa (1963).[He garnered the Nandi Award for Best Actor for Kodalu Diddina Kapuramin 1970, and the Inaugural Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu in 1972 for Badi Panthulu.NTR made his debut as an actor in a Telugu social film Mana Desam, directed by L. V. Prasad in 1949. He gained popularity in the 1950s when he became well known for his portrayals of Hindudeities,
especially Krishna and Rama,roles which have made him a "messiah of the masses". He later became known for portraying antagonistic characters and Robin Hood-esque hero characters in films. In total, he starred in 300 films, and has become one of the most prominent figures in the history of Telugu cinemaHe was voted "Greatest Indian Actor of All Time" in a CNN-IBN national poll conducted in 2013 on the occasion of the Centenary of Indian Cinema.
He starred in such films as Patala Bhairavi (1951), which premiered at the first India International Film Festival, held in Mumbai on 24 January 1952,Malliswari (1951), premiered at Asia Pacific Film Festival, the enduring classics Mayabazar(1957) and Nartanasala (1963), featured at Afro Asian film festival in Jakarta] All the four films were included in CNN-IBN's list of "Hundred greatest Indian films of all time".
He co-produced Ummadi Kutumbam, nominated by Film Federation of India as one of its entries to the 1968 Moscow Film Festival.Besides Telugu, he has also acted in a few Tamil films. Widely recognised for his portrayal of mythological characters, NTR was one of the leading method actors of Indian cinema,He was referred to in the media as Viswa Vikhyatha Nata Sarvabhouma.He was awarded the Padma Shriby the Government of India in 1968, recognizing his contribution to Indian cinema.
After his career in films, NTR entered politics. He founded the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in 1982 and served three tumultuous terms as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh between 1983 and 1995. He was known as an advocate of Andhra Pradesh's distinct cultural identity, distinguishing it from the erstwhile Madras State with which it was often associated. At the national level, he was instrumental in the formation of the National Front, a coalition of non-Congress parties which governed India from 1989 until 1990
