School Infrastructure - Requirement of certain information towards development of infrastructure facilities in Government Schools, KGBVs, APMS, APRS and Government Junior Colleges Instructions – issued
During the review meeting on 16th April 2026, the Government have decided to identify certain schools and colleges for improvement of the infrastructure facilities to achieve high standards. The selection of Government Schools, KGBVs, APMS, APRS and Government Junior Colleges shall be based on the following parameters: 1. School/College shall be most accessible with adequate transportation & Communication facilities. Suitable pick up and drop off point near main entrance. Early accessible to students, staff for emergency services. Proper road connectivity thought out the year shall be ensured for both Rural and Urban students. 2. A minimum extent of not less than 5 acres of land shall be available with adequate land for playground, parking and future expansion. 3. Health Care Facilities such as Primary Health Centre (PHC) shall be available within the radius of 5 km. 4. Residential accommodation facilities shall be available for the teachers within the radius of 5 km. 5. A Safe and Supportive school environment free from violence, with strong emotional support for students. 6. Adequate external lighting facilities shall be available. 7.
Availability of nearby Police Station shall be ensured. 8. Away from sound pollution, industries and heavy traffic shall be considered. 9. Environmental sustainability measures such as rain water harvesting and green campus development etc. shall be feasible. 10. Reliable electrical power supply shall be available. 11. Clear land ownership and title clearance shall be ensured
