Public Libraries – Zilla Grandhalaya Samsthas and Regional Libraries in the State - 56th National Library Week Celebrations scheduled to be conducted from 14-11-2023 to 20-112023 in all the Public Libraries in the State
references to the above cited, all the Gazetted Librarians of Government Regional Libraries and the Secretaries of Zilla Grandhalaya Samsthas in the State are informed that, as you are well aware, the Department of Public Libraries, A.P., conduct National Library Week Celebrations from 14th November to 20th November, every year. Accordingly this year also, the Department of Public Libraries,A.P., Scheduled to conduct National Library Week Celebrations 14th November,2023 to 20th November,2023, so as to bring Library awareness among the public and highlighting the services rendered by the Department. Previously, Government vide Memo 1st cited have accorded permission to incur the following amounts from the Library Cess funds towards weeklong National Library Week Celebration. 1. District Central Library located in the District Head Quarter 2. Gr.I Library located in the major Municipalities 3. Gr.II Library located in the Municipalities 4. Gr.III Library located in the Mandal Head Quarters---- 35,000 15,000 11,000 8,000 Keeping the above permission accorded by the Government in view, it is decided to accord permission to all the Zilla Grandhalaya Samsthas and Government Libraries in the State to conduct National Library Week Celebrations, as usual, from 14-11-2023 to 20-11-2023 in all the Public Libraries in the State. In this connection, the District Central Librarians & Ex-officio Secretaries of Zilla Grandhalaya Samsthas are instructed to keep the following points in view, while incurring the said expenditure towards the National Library Week Celebrations during the year 2023: 1. All the District Central Librarians & Ex-Officio Secretaries of Zilla Grandhalaya Samsthas are
requested not to take advantage of the above permission accorded by the Government for incurring the said expenditure in the name of the Celebrations. 2. While incurring the said expenditure from the funds of the respective Z.G.Ss, they are requested to keep the financial position of the Samsthas, future expenditure towards the payment of salaries and pensions, developmental activities to be taken up in the district and other capital expenditure to be incurred from the funds towards maintenance of libraries etc.,in
