SCERT, A.P. - Deputing the Faculty member for the 10 days Training programme on Inclusive Education
The attention of all the District Educational Ofcers in the State are invited
to the reference read above (copy enclosed), wherein the Principal, Regional
Institute of Education (NCERT), Mysore has informed that the Inter - University
Center for Teacher Education was established by MHRD, Government of India at
RIE, Mysuru. The Center provides Professional development opportunities to
teachers and Teacher Educators by ofering diferent short and long duration
programmes. One such programme is deeveloped in collaboration with CBM India
Trust, Bangalore. The CBM India is a disability and development organisation
committed to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities in the
poorest communities of the country.
Further, the Principal, RIE, Mysore has informed that over the past several
decades,the feld of education made several strides towards educating all
children, and now we are at a most signifcant and happening ear the ear of
inclusion. Government policies like the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory
Education Act, 2009 (Right to Education Act) and the Rights of Persons with
Disabilities Act,2016 (RPWD Act 2016) made a signifcant impact in education for
Inclusion. Most recently, National Education Policy 2020 also emphasises
inclusive and equitable education for all. An essential component for success in
Inclusive education is teachers knowledge, awareness and confdence to handle
children with special needs. The government and the non-governmental
organisations have taken up several initiatives to train the pre and in-services for
inclusive education. However, the training of teacher education is yet to be given
much importantce.
keeping this in view, CBM India Trust , in collaboration with Inter-
University Center for Teacher Education , Regional Institute of Education, Mysuru,
developed a ten days training module to train the key resource persons like the
SCERT, DIET faculties, teacher Educators at block and cluster level, college of
Education faculty working in Government and Private Institutions.
Therefore, the RIE, Mysuru, invites faculty members of Teacher training
Institutions to attend the training programme and requested to depute 10 faculty
(one from each DIET/BRC) to attend the training programme. The mode of the
programme will be online. The programme will be conducted for 20 days ( two
sessions per day in the afternoon). The actual programme was envisaged
