School Education Department– Jagananna Gorumudda – Supply of Eggs to Schools in the state- Request for Pre-Dispatch Inspections
The Hon’ble Chief Minister conducted a review meeting on the
implementation of Jagananna Gorumudda Scheme on 05.01.2022.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister appreciated the visits of Collectors and
Joint Collectors to the schools to check and taste meals and instructed to
strengthen the scheme by minimum two visits by the Collectors and Joint
collectors to check MDM as these inspections have shown tremendous
impact on the quality of the meals served.
In the review meeting, the issue of providing quality eggs was also
discussed in details. One of the checks for ensuring quality has been
considered as pre- dispatch checks of the eggs in the stock points for their
quality parameters before dispatch to schools.
You may be aware that the same suppliers supply eggs for both
anganwadis and schools. Already Joint Collectors have been requested for
predispatch checks of the eggs by the Director, Women Development and
Child Welfare vide the reference above.
In the same manner, a Committee at the Mandal level may be
constituted/ reconstituted involving CDPOs, Mandal Education officers for
pre dispatch checks of the eggs in the godowns so as to avoid sending of
rotten eggs/ small sized eggs and it is requested to take necessary action
on the suppliers if any deviations in the quality of the eggs supplied.
It is also requested to visit schools frequently to check Jagananna
Gorumudda as directed by Government for successful implementation of
the Jagananna Gorumudda scheme.
