School Education - National Deworming Day from 31.08.2021 to 06.09.2021 - Certain instructions issued

The attention of all Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District

Educational Officers in the State is invited to the references cited and informed

that, the National De-worming day is aimed at to Deworm all preschool and

school-age children between the ages of 1-19 years through the platform of

schools and anganwadi centers to improve their overall heath, nutritional status,

access to educationand quality of life and decided to conduct National

Deworming Day programme from 31.08.2021 to 06.09.2021.

Further, the Government of India has directed to conduct Bi-Annual

Deworming and National De-worming Day during the month of either August or

September, 2021 to cover the children from 1 to 19 years. Accordingly, the

HM&FW Dept., has conducted coordination and convergence meeting of all line

departments i.e., school education, Intermediate Education, WD &CW Dept.,

Tribal Welfare Department, Municipal Administration, Panchayat Raj etc., with

Health Medical & Family Welfare Department for proper implementation of the

programme.

In view of the above, all Regional Joint Directors of School Education and

District Educational Officersin the State are requested to issue certain

instructions to the field level functionaries to take necessary action in this regard

a. Headmasters/Teachers of all schools shall coordinate with the concerned

officials of Health department.

b. Conduct awareness programmes to the students on National Deworming

and encourage group discussions among the children about the necessity

of the Albendazole 400 mg tablet.

c. Headmasters/Teachers shall explain about the usage of Albendazole 400

mg tablets to the children to prevent de-worming during assembly time
