MDM - Inviting WASSAN to support Inclusion of Millets based Hot Cooked Meal in MDM Programme

of Andhra Pradesh is planning to introduce Millets based menu into Mid-Day Meal

(MDM) scheme in Andhra Pradesh State across various districts.

Considering the long standing experience of WASSAN in "Comprehensive

Revival of Millets program' in 7 Districts of AP in 2016, the millet programs in ICDS

in Telangana, also the successful pilot initiatives it has caried out earlier and similar

work carried out in Odisha and elsewhere, we are happy to seek partnership with

WASSAN in this initiative to support the School Education Department of Andhra

Pradesh as a Resource Organisation.

Our expectation of WASSAN is to bring on board the learning from national

level initiatives through the Working Group on Millets of RRA Network and other

players on the design of the program, related policies, capacity building and evolving

operational modalities. Support in providing feedback and design corrections while in

implementation will be much appreciated. School Education Department of Andhra

Pradesh will extend all the needed support for the program/pilots.

We much appreciate that, WASSAN and the Working Group on Millets

(WGOM) has come forward to provide these services. School Education Department

will be happy to meet the expenses incurred on food, travel, accommodation for your

team and any nominated experts on the above-mentioned activities as per the norms

of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
