In response to D.O.Letter in the reference 2™4 cited, the Principal Secretary to Govt., Energy Infrastructure & Investment, Govt. of AP has been requested to issue instructions to the officials of the electricity department for providing connections to the schools without having
electricity in the villages.
At present in the D.O.Letter reference 1%‘ cited, the Joint Secretary, MHRD, Govt. of India, New Delhi have issued instructions to the School Education Department to prepare a action plan for providing electrification to all schools and also to pursue the matter with the official of the electricity department to consider lower tariff category for the Govt. Schools instead of commercial tariff in vogue.
At this juncture I would like to bring to kind notice that, there are 44510 Government Schools existing in 13 districts of AP of which Electricity is available for 41660 Schools leaving a balance 2850 schools require Electricity connection.
The district wise schools requires electricity in two categories i.e., new
connection for 2670 schools and re-connection for 180 schools as follows (list of schools are enclosed) as per U-DISE 2018-19
