Samagra Shiksha ,Andhra Pradesh - SALT -Virtual Orientation on Environmental and Social Systems Assessment(ESS) on 4.02.2025- An awareness program for members of Sustainable School Units (SSU) , Supporting Andhra's Learning Transformation (SALT ),a World Bank Supported Project, Andhra Pradesh - Orders issuedAll the District Educational Officers and Additional Project Coordinators of Samagra Shiksha in the State are informed that as per the references cited above, it is to inform that an Environmental and Social Systems Assessment (ESSA), is as part of Supporting Andhra’s Learning transformation(SALT) project with the support of the Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) and various constituent agencies like Samagra Shiksha , the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), the State Institute of Education Management and Training (SIEMAT), the Andhra Pradesh Educational and Welfare Infrastructure Development Corporation (APEWIDC), and other facilitating agencies. The ESSA was carried out in accordance with the SALT Project objectives including relevant policies, directives, and guidance for ESSA, during the project preparation phase. Further, it is informed that the ESSA component emphasizes strengthening institutional capacity at the state, district, and sub-district levels for the overall management of E&S risks and social inclusion aspects under the Program. In this regard , the Fifth Implementation Support Mission (ISM) for the Supporting Andhra’s Learning Transformation (SALT) operation which was held from November 18th-22,2024 discussed on status of progress of Environment and Social Action Plan (PAP) items, implementation plan and critical actions for upcoming six months of operation, in this context the World Bank team suggested to conduct virtual orientation to the Sustainable School
