Supply of Dictionaries to students under Jagananna Vidya Kanuka (JVK)

The attention of all the Regional Joint Directors of School Education,

the District Educational Ofcers, the Secretary, A.P. Model School Society,

the Secretary, APREIS and the Secretary, K.G.B.Vs are informed that the

Government of Andhra Pradesh have launched Jagananna vidya Kanuka on

th of October, 2020 and as part of the kit, Oxford “Compact English-

English-Telugu Dictionary”, was also supplied to all students studying from

Class VI to X in government and government aided institutions.

In this regard it is to inform that eforts need to be put in making the

child use dictionary on day to day basis and the culture of referring

dictionary be inculcated among the children under close supervision and

guidance of the class teachers and English teachers concerned. For this

purpose, let there be innovative methods, such as teaching one new word

a day, conducting competitions, short quiz, language games etc, in the

schools on a day to day basis. Using dictionary should become second

nature of a learner.

Further all the above mentioned ofcers are requested to issue

necessary instructions to the Head Masters / Principals under their purview

that every week once students to produce the Dictionary & show it in

class.
