February 28 is celebrated as "National Science Day in India to commemorate
the discovery of the "Raman Effect' by one of the renowned Physicists of India Sir C. V.
Raman, the Indian physicist won the Nobel Prize in physics in 1930 for his phenomenal
discovery that was named after him The Raman Effect'.
As a regular practice, APCOST is going to organise the National Science Day
(NSD) Activity in all the districts through District Science Officer (DSO) under the
guidance of concerned District Educational Officer (DEO) and District Coordinator
(DC). The Organisers are instructed to organise the activities scrupulously with the
following norms & guidelines:
i. The programs / activities will be conducted in all districts with the support
of DEO, District Science Officer (DSO) and NCSC Teams.
ii. Program will have to be conducted at THREE (3) levels for students of
Classes 7th to 9th for all management schools i.e. (1) Divisional, (2) District &
(3) State Level.
i. First TWO levels ie. (1) Divisional & (2) District Level in each district will be
conducted by DSOs under the guidance of DEOs, with the cooperation of
NCSC teams at their respective districts. Whereas State Event shall be
organised by APCOST at Vijayawada.
iv. Budget of Rs. 5,000/- is sanctioned to each DSO for conduct of the above said
2 events. Budget can't be released in advance, since the budget is being
released through CFMS portal and CFMS doesn't allow advances.
V. Competitions such as (a) Exhibits / Models and (2) Quiz will have to be
conducted in each level. Topics for competitions are as follows:
