Bhagwan Mahaveer Foundation - 24th Mahaveer Awards - Proposals - Called for - instrictions

am to inform that, the Advisor, Bhagwan Mahaveer Foundation,

Chennai has informed that the Bhagwan Mahaveer Foundation is to identify,

encourage and honour the individuals and institutions who are doing selfless service

for the welfare of the underprivileged, weak and the voiceless in our society and

also encourage others to follow suit. The Foundation has instituted the Mahaveer

Awards which are annually awards for excellence in human endeavour in the

following four fields.

a. Non- Violence and Vegetarianism

b. Education

C. Medicine

d. Community and Social Service

Further the Advisor has informed that each award carries a cash

component of Rs. 10 lakhs with a memento and a citation and Nominations are

invited from eminent citizens of the country and administrations and the general

public. All the nominations received are placed before a Shortlisting Committee.

Shortlisted nominations are placed before the Selection Jury for consideration of the

Award. The Selection Jury is headed by Justice Sri M N Venkatachalaiah,

former Chief Justice of India.
