Poshan Maah during the month of September, 2020 -to organize a POSHAN Assembly with students in virtual mode to discuss malnutrition, its impact on Society and value of healthy and balanced diet

The attention of all the Regional Joint Directors of School Education and

District Education Officers in the State is invited to the reference read above,and they

are informed that the Hon'ble Prime Minister launched Scheme for Holistic

Nourishment on 8th March, 2018 and the month of September, 2020 is being

celebrated as Poshan Maah to further accelerate various activities under POSHAN

Abhiyaan and to create a "Jan Aandolan" in the process by adhering COVID-19

protocols.

Therefore, all the Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District

Education Officers in the State are requested to instruct the field level officers and

Headmasters of all management schools to organize a POSHAN Assembly with

students in virtual mode:

a) to discuss malnutrition, its impact on Society and value of healthy and

balanced diet.

b) An essay competition and e-Quiz/e-competitions focusing on

malnutrition/nutrition awareness may also be organized.

They are further informed that the Department of School Education,

Government of India shall be circulating detailed guidelines in this regard. Swayam

Prabha channels of Ministry of Education will also telecast programmes on Poshan

Abhiyan during Poshan Maah.(Copy enclosed)
