Education / District Educational Officers / Principals of DIETs, CTEs, IASEs

in the State is invited to the references read above and they are informed

that, in the ref. 2nd read above, Govt. while furnishing a copy of the

representation of Sambandh Health Foundation, Gurgaon, New Delhi and

requested to examine and take necessary action in the matter.

In the representation Sri Sanjay Seth, Trustee & Head, Tobacco

control, Gurgaon, New Delhi has stated that Tobacco is world’s leading

cause of death. In order to protect children form use of Tobacco, the

Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Govt.of India has issued

Revised Guidelines for Tobacco Free Educational Institutions (ToFEI). As

such, all Educational Institutions in Andhra Pradesh must ensure

compliance of these Guidelines. A copy of guidelines are enclosed

herewith.

Further, Sri Sanjay Seth has requested to ensure that each

Educational Institute ie., schools/ colleges should be Tobacco Free and

Some resource material such as anti-tobacco posters designs, anti-

tobacco videos, Global Adult Tobacco Survey Andhra Pradesh Fact sheet

Therefore, all Regional Joint Directors of School Education/ District

Educational Officers/ Principal, DIETs, CTEs, IASEs in the State are

requested to issue necessary instructions to all Field Officers/Headmasters

of all Management Schools / Teacher Educational Institutions in the State

to follow above said revised guidelines for Tobacco Free Educational

Institution issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare Department,

Govt. of India and fill up and upload the Self – Evaluation Scorecard for
