Directors of Samagra Shiksha are informed that the Ministry of Health and Family welfare was

decided to implement the "POSHAN Abhiyan" to create a mass awareness on nutrition by

following the jan Andolan strategy. MoHFW has focused on various activities including test

treat and talk (T-3) camps under Anemia Mukt bharat (AMB), diarrhoea prevention and

counseling camps under Defeat Diarrhoea (D-2) initiative, home visits under Home Based

Newborn and chld care (HBN & HBYC) programs, Immunization, Mothers Absolute Affection

(MAA) and village Health sanitation and Nutrition Days (VHSND) during previous POSHAN

Maah's and POSHAN pakhwada.

The Ministry of Health and Family welfare is going to celebrating the 2d anniversary of the

launch of POSHAN Abhiyan, to Celebrate the occasions and reinforcing the momentum gained

through various convergence activities, it has been decided to celebrate the POSHAN

Pakhwada from 8h March to 22 March 2020 across the country for which following action are

proposed.

a) Organise T-3 camps in secondary and senior secondary Schools during

the pakhwada considering, schools as an excellent platform for mass

awareness among adolescent population on the issue of anemia. The

school going adolescents are to be tested and counselled on prevention

and treatment for anemia during these camps.

b) Ensure ll the scheduled home visits of Newborn and young children under HBNC

and HBYC programs.

c)Group counselling sessions on the themes of nutrition in adolescents, anemia,

balanced and diverse diet and teenage pregnancies etc. To be conducted on

VHSND

d) Intensive IEC/BCC activities through interpersonal communication (1PC), mid and

Mass media including community radio.

Therefore, the District Educational Officers & Ex- Officio Project Coordinators and the

Additional Project Coordinators of the Samagra Shiksha in the state are instructed to issue

necessary instructions to respective Mandal Educational Officers and school Head masters in
