English Medium Sections from Class VI to VIII

The attention of all the Regional Joint Directors of School Education and

District Educational Officers in the State is invited to the references read above and

they are informed that in the reference 2nd read above, all the Regional Joint

Directors of School Education and District Educational Officers in the State are

permitted to take admissions in English Medium Sections from Class VI to VIII for

the academic year 2018-2019 where enrolment is more than 20 in each section,

subject to condition that there is no additional staff and financial commitment

to Government and subject to ratification orders from the Govt. However, it is found

that proposals are being submitted by them to this office for opening of English

Medium sections in classes 6th to 8th during 2019-2020. This causes avoidable

delay.

You are also aware that the Government is committed to introduce English

Medium in all Government & Zilla Parishad Schools. The detailed modalities of the

same will be issued shortly on receipt from Government. Meanwhile, all the Regional

Joint Directors of School Education and District Educational Officers in the State are

requested to take action for opening of English Medium sections in classes 6th to 8th

during 2019-2020 duly following the instructions issued vide reference 2nd

read above for this academic year. They are also instructed not to submit such

proposals to this office and take necessary action at their end without delaying the

whole matter.

Officers are also instructed to ensure that necessary English Medium Text Books

are obtained from the buffer District stock and arrange required subject teachers on

work adjustment basis by 20.8.2019, if the existing teachers are not adequate.

They are also requested to give wide publicity for opening of English

Medium sections in Classes 6th to 8th in Government and Local Body Schools with

the support of Public representatives and SMC members and submit compliance on

the number of English Medium sections opened in the schools in the district by

30.8.2019.
