The objective of the Girls Hostel scheme is to retain girl child in
Secondary Education.
➢ In Andhra Pradesh, it is observed that the Dropout Rate of Girls is
twice the Boys at secondary level and also to ensure that the Girls
students are not denied the opportunity to continue their study due to
Distance and social factors and there is a much Demand for the Girls
Hostels in Andhra Pradesh.
➢ In the RMSA, 235 girls hostels are approved. The year wise approvals
as follows.

Guidelines for Admission Procedure and Eligibility Criteria.
➢ Procurement of Utensils and Rice in Coordination with Civil Supplies Dept.
➢ Providing of Double Gas Cylinders in coordination with civil supplies Dept.
➢ Purchasing of Beds etc..
➢ Instructions on Daily Menu and Time Table for food to be followed in
Hostels.
➢ Appointment of Outsourcing Staff to the Hostels.
➢ Fixation of Biometric- Devices and CC Cameras to the Hostels.
➢ Every Girls Hostel had given an initial amount of Rs. 7.00 for starting of
Hostel.
➢ An amount of Rs. 16.00 Lakh is given to the girls Hostels for Minor Repairs
and Pending Works.

• She must see that no wastage of food at any time taken place.
• She should see that the health and hygienic conditions in the hostel
kitchen and dining hall, washrooms etc. are to be maintained
properly.
• She should conduct food committee meetings once in a fortnight to
take the suggestions from the committee members in maintaining
the hostel duly maintaining minute’s book.
• She shall available and supervise during breakfast, Snacks and
dinner time in the dining hall.
• She has to coordinate with the staff for smooth and efficient
functioning of the hostel.
